This article talks about how models are too thin..duh. I think that Hollywood and the fashion industry has become obsessed with being skinny. But how skinny is too skinny? I would rather see a normal size woman in clothes that I am going to buy because I know I will never look like the super models in those clothes. As Hollywood has become obsessed with being skinny, so has the rest of the world because they are obsessed with Hollywood. I heard that woman with a little extra meat live longer and healthier lives than those who are stick thin. Being healthy and in shape is what should be important to women today. Not everyone is genetically skinny, tall, or beautiful, but accepting who you are will make you happy. That sounds so cliche because everyone hears it all the time, but it really is the truth.

This article discusses how models are to thin and becoming very unhealthy with their eating habits or their chain smoking. Also, the Council of Fashion Designers of America has released a list of recommendations as part of a new health initiative to get models back on track. When I first clicked on this page, next to the article is a picture of a female model who is very thin. When i saw this, it made me have a sick feeling in my stomach. I found this girl very unattractive, but if she would just have some more meat to her, she would be beautiful. I always thought models were suppose to attract people in a positive way. I think America needs to get out of this skinny phase and instead just become more healthy. You know...exercise, eat in proportion, and do things that make you happy. Happiness is the key to success.

I really hope that these guidelines set by the Council of Fashion Desginers of America really helps change things in the fashion industry. I believe that really hate that the standards of beauty in this country depends on how skinny a person can be. Its disgusting how girls are developing eating disorders at younger and younger ages. These images on TV, in magazines, and in other types of media influence millions of girls to think less of themselves and to try to change their body image. its also hard for me to understand the concept behind modeling. How can there even be a career soley based on looks? I am really happy to hear that in Spain and Italy standards are changing to promote healthy bodies and people. Its about time that the fashion industry realized that they were promoting unhealthy and unsafe lifestyles.
